Declaration of Climate Emergency
Documents relating to climate emergency and how we ALL can take steps towards making a difference.
- Encourage Walking
- Biodiversity in public spaces – some of the grass verges could be replaced with wild flowers.
- Encourage Biodiversity – working with North Duffield residents to increase biodiversity in their back
gardens. - Tree Planting – although a long-term project this would involve the community. The Woodland Trust has free trees available for planting projects. If community trees were planted this would help offset some
carbon. Fruit trees would provide an additional source of food. - Plastic Free and recycling – single use plastic should continue to be supported and we would like to encourage residents and local businesses to recycle as much as possible.
- Engage with Future Planning – Engage with the Local Plan and future developments regarding different
sources of energy generation ie solar panels.
