Nature Recovery Jan 2026 update
Nature Recovery in Skipwith and North Duffield-Early Spring events 2026
Published: 31 January 2026
Home Composting and No-Dig Veg gardening workshop – Saturday 21ST February 10.00 at Skipwith Hall
Come and find out more about home composting and how to get a no-dig veg garden up and running… plus the chance of picking up some of Jenny’s tomato seeds and learning how to sow them! Free event, all welcome.
Visit to the North Duffield Carrs
Look out for when it floods – and listen up for an email from the local Nature Recovery team about a visit to North Duffield Carrs to see the winter wildfowl visiting the floodplain meadows from the comfort of the hides. So long as we have your email on the list, we will keep you posted.
We hope to arrange visits to two of the gardens that Beany has designed to be wildlife friendly.
Elaine has given a talk to North Duffield Local History and Conservation Society about encouraging more wildlife to gardens and this will be repeated in Skipwith in March.
Tips for winter Ensure that there is a clean source of water available especially in freezing weather. Try to avoid disturbing piles of leaves and twigs where insects might be sheltering and, if you have a real Christmas tree chop it up and make a twig pile instead of binning it.
