The Parish Council would like to encourage residents to look out for any vulnerable neighbours in the event of an emergency. Having spoken to members of our community at the annual parish meeting we believe this would be the most effective way of helping others in the event of an emergency. It would be ideal if you and your neighbours could set up a contact pyramid. This is proven to be a quick and effective method by which to coordinate communications and easily spread information amongst your community. It is also good to know who your neighbours are. For example, is someone in your area trained in first aid. The most effective way of communicating with others is face to face but if this is not possible use other means such as social media, notice boards etc. You and your neighbours could set up a telephone tree (a system whereby one person contacts a small group, who in turn call their own contacts, and so on until everyone is notified).
